Is your wedding package for a full day of photos including bride preparation, ceremony, wedding party photos, and reception?
My wedding packages start at 1.5 hours of coverage—ideal for small beach weddings. I offer photography packages up to 8 hours (a full day of coverage), including bride’s “getting ready” shots, bridal party photography, reception photos and detail shots (flower arrangements, etc).
Can you recolor the photos?
Absolutely. My packages include a Digital Download or USB of all images taken plus a sum of photos (selectable by the bride and groom) for retouching. I edit the selected photos to be either black & white, adjust the color tones of the images, soften skin tones, and/or remove any unwanted background activity.
Do you charge a travel fee?
I do not charge a travel fee for the island of Maui. However, charges apply for coverage in Maui County’s surrounding populated islands, including: Lanai and Molokai. Inquire for more details.
Do you work alone? Or will you bring an assistant?
For longer shoots, especially weddings, I bring an assistant who sometimes takes candid and/or detail photographs. Depending on how many guests you have (50+), I bring in a second shooter to assist me with photography.
How many images can I expect to see from my wedding?
On average, I shoot 100 images per hour.
Can you tell me about your style as a wedding photographer? What’s important?
My style as a photographer is capturing those special moments as they occur. I’d say my strength as a photographer is getting great candid shots. I pay close attention to the chemistry between my couples. If they are spontaneous with each other, I’m right there with my camera to capture that moment. If a couple looks to me for guidance and wants more posing, I get that too. Still, each wedding I photograph is completely different from the next because each of my couples are unique. I look for the emotion between my couples—the laughter, etc. I also look around for interesting lighting, mood, and the best scenery to create a great composition. I don’t always follow the “technical” rules of photography—in my opinion, a great photo is the mood and emotion captured.
How long does it take to see the proofs after a photo shoot? When do we get the photos?
Proofs are posted to an online (private) proofing gallery within two weeks (depending on season) of your wedding. Your photos are delivered via Digital Download or by mail (USB) after you’ve selected the photos you want retouched and after I’ve retouched them. Your Digital Download (or USB) will include all original Hi-res photos taken as well.
What is the deposit amount to book?
My wedding packages consist of three payments:
- A 25% non-refundable reservation fee is due to book your wedding date. This is considered a retainer fee, not a deposit.
- 50% of the your balance is due 90 days prior to your wedding date— also non-refundable.
- The remaining balance is due on the day of your event.
What is your cancellation policy?
In the event of a cancellation, any payment already submitted will be applied to any future booking with me.
