I find children and teens fascinating to photograph because they’re unpredictable. Most importantly, to photograph a child’s true nature, I give them space to be themselves. Similarly, when I photograph children with fewer expectations, more portraits become meaningful. Let the kids rule!
For Angela and Kevin’s sunset session, they were looking for a unique and lush forest location. It was very important that their location was natural and rustic. I suggested Honolua Bay and it turned out great! They love their photos and so do I.
These are some of my favorite portraits from a recent shoot with Kristin Hettermann. Kristin, a beautiful person inside and out and the creator of Grace Delivers, is truly an inspiration! Hair and Make-up by: Katherine Day
Ariel and Yanick chose Makaluapuna Point for a honeymoon photo shoot in Kapalua. Also called “dragons teeth” because of its jagged rocks, this spot is great for black and white photos and dramatic sea-spray backdrops. With the West Maui mountains in the distance, it was a great choice for Ariel and Yanick to roam around […]
I took these images of my sister, Sophia Trask, on a secluded beach near Kealia Pond. She is an amazing actor and model!
Jonah, finally got the hang of going down the slide by himself.
Shelly just lit up in-front of the camera, posed and moved with grace. At one point, I teased Eddie because he was making funny faces. He felt if he takes himself to seriously, he doesn’t have fun. I think that is a great approach while getting your picture taken. With Eddie’s lighthearted approach and Shelly’s […]
Gianna and Joe’s engagement photos capture the playful innocence of their romance. Being engaged creates new wonder in their worlds. As they explore moments together, their gratitude and joy shine through on their faces and in their casual comfort. Blissed out at Ironwoods Beach, they barely noticed the photographer… #couples
Cara and Dominick over-looking the ocean. This spot had some wonderful rock formations! Thank you, Cara and Dominick, for being a part of our first shoot-out! This is a new group here on Maui where photographers come together to inspire, learn and shoot together. Jana Dillon, a local Maui photographer, organized our first shoot-out at […]
Angela and Kevin came to Maui to celebrate their honeymoon. They were looking forward to a fun and casual morning photoshoot — with the vibrant colors of the ocean in the background. They were full of energy and there were plenty of great moments to capture! #couples
This was such a beautiful Maui engagement session! Doug and Jacqui’s wedding photos from the Haiku Mill, coming soon!
